About the artist:
Carol started taking pictures four years ago. She began doing juried art shows and started winning competitions. This year Carol has been published in collections called “Water” and “Animal Magnetism” through the Vermont Photographic Workplace, has shown at Studio2Gallery in Austin and the Williams Tower Gallery in Houston and has been seen in the Bastrop area at the Lost Pines Cancer Center, McKinney Roughs Nature Park, the Chamber of Commerce, Library, and Visitors' Center, as well as being represented at Austin Details, a new art gallery in Austin, Texas. In addition, she has been accepted at prestigious juried art shows like Houston's Bayou City, Fayetteville's Art Walk, Kerrville and Rockport's Art Festivals.
From fashion model to live theatre owner to teacher to zookeeper, Carol’s had the advantage of growing up surrounded by artistic mentors and the knowledge gleaned from careful observation. The controlling factors in Carol’s work are shooting pictures of what amuses and touches her. She likes to exalt the familiar, celebrate the ordinary, and honor the creatures of the world. She hopes these factors will delight those who see her work.
